About Crumlin Community Cleanup
Crumlin Community Cleanup is a volunteer run group based in Crumlin, Dublin 12. The group activities are aimed at improving and sustaining the environment of the local area. You are welcome to all our events. All our volunteers strive to be respectful of opinions and values of all other volunteers and residents in Crumlin, this is a core and fundamental value of the group.

What The Group Does
The group organises weekly clean ups, sometimes two a week (depending on interest and weather), greening projects, litter management and helping out neighbours and residents with gardens.

Getting Involved
There are many ways to get involved, from litter picking, plantingto admin work like project planning, liaising with DCC and other interest groups. Something for everyone.

There are currently 3 main headings to our volunteer work, Litter Management, Greening Projects(Bloomin’ Crumlin) and Street Improvements. There is also a small admin team that organises locations of cleanups, deals with correspondence, makes grant applications and oversees the three working groups.

Keeping in Touch

As a group, we have several ways of keeping in touch and organising events.

-WhatsApp Cleanup Volunteer Group There is a dedicated resident volunteer WhatsApp group to help communicate on a weekly basis. This group is used to organise weekly clean ups, share interesting pictures from the area that could be included on our Social Media platforms. All conversations on WhatsApp should be respectful to each other, everyone is a volunteer in the group, and we are all living in the area. It’s good to be kind to your neighbours.

Can more bins be located in the area?
Working with councillors and local residents groups we have successfully added 40+ bins to the area recently. There are strict criteria for adding a bin to a location. It usually must be a shopping ares, bus route, park, school route.

What do I do if the a public bin is overflowing?
If the bin is on the street, Did you know that there are QR codes on all public bins? Just scan this code with your phone and you will be directed to a service page on the Dublin City Council website where you can register a request to have the bin emptied.
If the bin is in the park, there are no QR code, you can email parks@dublincity.ie

I’ve spotted a dumped bag on a street/park, can I report it?
Yes, you can use our form here and we will send it onto the council. This helps us track dumping spots in the community and we can work to improve it or look for it to be monitored.

Water Gullies are blocked, car abandoned and other street issues?
Dublin City Council also has a service portal where you can log an issue on your street, from blocked street gullies, cracked footpaths and abandoned vehicles. Go to www.dublincity.ie/main-menu-your-council/Isupport to log any issues

Can more wildflowers and colour be added to the area?
Crumlin Community Cleanup have a number of green improvement projects in the planning.
